We had the exciting opportunity to host the Virtual Field Trip (VFT) team from Arizona State University last summer! The VFT project documents educationally rich experiences captured during real expeditions with scientists doing current research. These VFTs are used in high school and college classrooms to supplement topics such as early life, microorganisms, biodiversity, and ancient civilizations. VFT topics are actively in development and new VFTs continue to come online periodically. You can read more about the project here.
The VFT team spent three days with our researchers in the field, where they interviewed our crew and captured some amazing video (including drone) footage and 3D images. See below for yourself, and experience paleontology in Hell Creek Montana from your computer!
Have you heard of Google Cardboard?
Google Cardboard provides an easy and affordable way to experience virtual reality. The VFT team created a virtual tour of the Hell Creek area, which can be accessed here on your smartphone and viewed with a Google Cardboard device.
